Applications invited for 'Dak Sevak' in Kerala Postal circle - 1193 vacancies

The Postal Department has invited applications for 1193 Dak Sevak vacancies in its Kerala state circle. Below are the requirements, educational qualifications, selection process, application fees, last date of application and how to apply details.

Dak Sevak vacancies

As mentioned above altogether there are 1193 vacancies.  Here is how the vacancies are distributed over different divisions.

Compulsory Requirements

For applying to posts other than Gramin Dak Sevak Branch post-Master(GDS-BPM), there are some requirements.

The candidates cannot apply to vacancies in any postal circle he wants. To apply for posts other than Gramin Dak Sevak Branch post-Master(GDS-BPM), a candidate should be a resident inside the postal circle for which he is applying. He should have valid documents to prove that he resides in the same postal circle for which he is applying. For Gramin Dak Sevak Branch post-Master(GDS-BPM) posts,  you need not be a resident of a particular postal circle. But if he is being selected he should move to the selected postal circle before the date of joining the job.

Educational qualifications

The candidates should have passed the tenth standard. There is no special consideration for higher qualified candidates. The applying candidates should also have computer knowledge. You should submit a valid course certificate from a recognized computer center to prove that you have required computer knowledge. The computer course you completed should also be a course of minimum 60-days duration.

If you do not have a computer course certificate, then you should have studied computer science as a subject in your tenth or plus two or degree.

Age requirements

The age is calculated based on date 10th June 2017. As per this date, all candidates in the age limit 18-40 can apply. The reserved categories will get age relaxations as per norms. OBC category candidates have 3 year age relaxation. SC/ST candidates have 5 year age relaxation.
Differently-abled candidates have 10 years age relaxation.

Selection process

The selection is made by tenth standard marks. If more than one candidate has same marks, then selection will be made by  below factors: How older is the candidate (higher age applicants have a higher preference) whether he/she is from a reserved category whether the candidate is a woman/man (woman candidates belonging to the reserved categories have the higher preference)

Security Deposit

For candidates who have seen selected to BPM post should remit a security amount of Rs. 25000.
For candidates who have been selected to posts other than BPM, should remit a security amount of Rs. 10000. The security amount is to be paid as Fidelity Guarantee Bond or in the form of National Savings Certificate.

Application Fees

For candidates who are men belonging to OC/OBC categories, the application fees are Rs.100. No fees are required for SC/ST/Women candidates. The application fees are to be paid through Head post offices. Fees can be paid through all head post offices.

Method of Application

The application process is to be done online. For applying first go to any of the websites below:

Registration is the first phase of applying. After doing registration, you will get a registration number.
Pay the examination fees with this registration number in any Head Post Office. After paying fees, go to the above web address and complete the second phase of an application process.

1. Name exactly as in the tenth certificate
2. Father's name
3. Mobile Number
4. Date of Birth
5. Gender
6. Community
7. If differently abled, candidate should have certified documents about Type of disability and Percentage of disability
8. State from which candidate passed Tenth education
9. Board from which candidate passed Tenth education
10. Year of passing of Tenth standard
11. Certificate Number of Tenth standard

All the certificates, photo, signature are to be uploaded for registration.
